at 1 am kl time, the army moved in. they had set up roadblocks. it is not sure whether they are
for the govt or not.
uncofirmed reports said they had sealed the police headquarters. it seems that the army might
be taking over.

There seems to be something wrong with the newsgroup
service on the SCV cable network. The traffic on
soc.culture.singapore has dropped to near zero over

If anyone is receiving this at all outside of the
singa.pore.net domain, please say "hi" or something...
thanks...!!
Very sorry to be wasting some bandwidth with this test,
but I need to know if I've been posting messages to
myself only.. [8-)

Hi Ee Mien...received loud and clear..love your threads in SCM...keep
it up man....
Warmest Regard..Jai.
Also For some reason they do not want too many people to know about it, so
they didn't inform us or post a notice on their web page. Could be the guys
and gals there trying to hide a blunder from their bosses.
By the way it's already down for 4-5 days now.

Well, I dunno. I was from SOL, Seletar. It would be
*very* interesting if there is another person of
my name from 46 SAR... [8-)
SCV sucks! Is that a good enough test?

That is an oxymoron. There is no such thing as fast
and open/public news servers. There are fast servers,
and there are open servers.
That's the choice you get. I think they named it after
a fellow called Hobson... [8-)

You know, I could have kept quiet, but I thought
it would be nice to bring out a point that I
have spent some time to uncover myself.
And I have said so, though not in so few words.
Would you rather that I replied to your post
like this?

No.

Very informative, huh? [8-)
> That's masking yourself in the bush
The term should be "beating around the bush".
For a real taste of "beating around the bush",
trying reading the Ken Starr report on the saga
of Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky, all 445 pages
of it (they recently released another 2800-page
version too). Might as well watch the 4-hour
video while you're at it... [8-)
No, I was not beating around the bush. Neither
am I masking myself behind any darn thing. I'm using
my real name, and the real-life institution and
country I'm from, for crying out loud.

Seriously, I don't have the patience to go through
all these servers myself. You can't really fault
me for not trying. As for yourself, well, it's all up
to you eh? [8-)
Moral of the story - don't anyhow say-say people, can?
Be nice... [8-)
