The Overseas Singaporean Unit is proud to present to you, Distinguished Business Leader, Mr Kwa Chong Seng, in San Francisco on 13 November 2011.
Mr Kwa Chong Seng, Chairman and Managing Director of ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Private Limited, is currently the Lead Country Manager for the ExxonMobil Companies in Singapore. He is functionally responsible for Retail Fuels Marketing in the Asia Pacific region, which includes S.E. Asia, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Mr Kwa graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from the University of Singapore and joined Esso Singapore in 1969. He has held various appointments in the Singapore Refinery, Logistics, Marketing and other parts of the downstream business. He spent about nine years in various assignments outside Singapore, most of which were with the Exxon offices in New Jersey, Houston, New York and Hong Kong. These included assignments in Marketing, Supply, Trading and Investment Planning.
His appointments outside of ExxonMobil include Deputy Chairman, Temasek Holdings Pte Ltd and Director, DBS Group Holdings Ltd. He also serves on the Public Service Commission in Singapore. He was conferred the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award by the National University of Singapore in 1994 and the Honorary Ningbo Citizenship in 1999. In 2005, he was awarded the Singapore Public Service Star.
Join us this afternoon as Mr Kwa shares his views on the oil and gas industry, latest developments in Singapore and his personal journey in life. In addition, catch up and network with fellow Singaporeans at the event. Guests will also enjoy a buffet lunch.

Conceived as a high-profile initiative by the Overseas Singaporean Unit, the DBL Series seeks to create a platform for interaction between Singapore-based companies and the Overseas Singaporean community. This is to enable Overseas Singaporeans to stay abreast of developments in the various sectors of the Singapore economy and that of the wider Asian region. The DBL Series will be of particular interest to Overseas Singaporeans wishing to find out more about job and business opportunities in Singapore and the Asian region.

As you may have heard, the Overseas Singaporean Unit (OSU) is having an event on Sunday, lunch time, Nov 13. Come hear a business leader from Singapore speak, ask questions, and network with your fellow Singaporeans, over a buffet lunch.
We've put in some feedback that having some provision for kids at these events would be helpful. There will be a kid's corner at this event, which we hope makes it easier for some of you to fit in this event (presumably "Business Attire" doesn't apply to the kids).
OSU puts in a fair bit of effort to bring these speakers over to our part of the world, and they support SingaporeConnect in our activities, most recently the Entrepreneurship Panel Discussion last Friday. It would be great to have a hearty show of support at their events. We hope to see you all there.
