Dear fifth grade parents,
I hope you're all enjoying the emerging sunshine (while keeping yourself mud-free).
Today I spoke with the students regarding a modest party for Valentine's Day, (Friday, Feb. 12 ).
Each student may, I repeat may choose to make a token of affection for each classmate, or just the boys (8), or just the girls (11). Each student may also choose to make a "group card" for the entire class.
If your child wants to bake or make a treat as his/her offering, please keep portions extremely small.
And remember, tokens of affection that stem from the heart and the hand, are sweeter to receive than something from a package or a box.
There is an obvious understanding that students may choose to purchase little things to embellish their cards or tokens of affection.
Again, it is fine for each child to ONLY bring a warm heart, a smile, and a positive attitude to our Friday celebration!
If anything is unclear regarding Friday 's gathering, have your child speak with me.
And a sweet Valentine's day to you all!
Sinsweetly, Peter Sciarretta
