Dear fifth grade parents,
I hope you're all enjoying the emerging sunshine (while keeping yourself mud-free).
Today I spoke with the students regarding a modest party for Valentine's Day, (Friday, Feb. 12 ).
Each student may, I repeat may choose to make a token of affection for each classmate, or just the boys (8), or just the girls (11). Each student may also choose to make a "group card" for the entire class.
If your child wants to bake or make a treat as his/her offering, please keep portions extremely small.
And remember, tokens of affection that stem from the heart and the hand, are sweeter to receive than something from a package or a box.
There is an obvious understanding that students may choose to purchase little things to embellish their cards or tokens of affection.
Again, it is fine for each child to ONLY bring a warm heart, a smile, and a positive attitude to our Friday celebration!
If anything is unclear regarding Friday 's gathering, have your child speak with me.
And a sweet Valentine's day to you all!
Sinsweetly, Peter Sciarretta

Hey 5th Grade!

Our Gnorman the Gnome Annual Sustaining Fund participation places us at almost "dead last".

I recently made my ASF contribution to the school, bringing the Sr. Class participation up to 100%. Anyone else willing to take 5 minutes and join me by donating online here? It would be so great to see our lively 5th grade class show some strength and support for our great school:

(As you all likely recall, the annual sustaining fund is a recurring financial sustainability campaign. Once the parent body, teachers, and board all reach the 90% participation level, the school will receive a grant of $50,000 from a generous anonymous donor. NOTE: This is money we won't see if we don't all make an effort to give what we are able.)

THANKS to you all for your continuing support of the Santa Fe Waldorf School!

All best, always.
Rebecca
