Greetings
5th Grade Parents,
The Parent Council has been working hard this school year to build its foundation and identify the needs of the school community. As we continue to implement many of the great ideas that have come out of our five committees, we are looking ahead to the 2016/2017 school year. Some of our current delegates are interested in a second term which we are thrilled about. We are writing to ask if YOU would be interested in being on the Parent Council for the 2016/2017 school year.
The Parent Council is a volunteer group whose aim is to support initiatives within the school which strengthen both the parents' the students’ experience and the school as a whole. The Parent Council delegates are elected by the parents in their child’s class and ideally there are 2 delegates for each class. The monthly meetings are energizing, filled with parents who want to do something meaningful for our students and school community and are excited for the growth and future of our school. The Parent Council is a great way for you to be involved and support your child's experience at Waldorf.
If you think you might be interested in joining the Parent Council, please let me know by April 4th. We are planning to send out a ballot later that week with the names of interested parents from our class along with an option for a write-in vote. Our goal is to have the delegates for next year's PC in place before school is out for summer break. We will then invite the new delegates to attend the May PC meeting.
I am currently the delegate for the
5th grade and
I am unable to continue as a delegate next year. I hope one of you will join me in being the second delegate for the rising 6
th grade class.
If you have any questions about the responsibilities of a Parent Council delegate, please call or email me:
