Social Worker – Unaccompanied Immigrant Children

The Immigration Center for Women and Children (ICWC) seeks a full‑time Social Worker to join its interdisciplinary legal team in its San Francisco (Mid‑Market) office. This position is ideal for MSW students graduating in May and/or recent MSW graduates interested in trauma‑informed, holistic advocacy with immigrant children and youth.

ICWC works to promote security and stability for children who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected, and for immigrants who are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other violent crimes. Our work focuses on federal immigration laws that allow marginalized immigrants to apply for work authorization and permanent residency.

Position Overview
The Social Worker will provide direct support to unaccompanied immigrant children who fled abuse in their home countries and were released from federal Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) custody. Working closely with attorneys and legal staff, the Social Worker will help deliver holistic, trauma‑informed, and healing‑centered services that support each client’s physical, mental, and emotional well‑being while their immigration case is pending.
This role offers meaningful clinical and advocacy experience at the intersection of social work, immigration law, and child welfare, with training in trauma‑informed and interdisciplinary practice.
Salary: $70,000–$82,000, depending on experience and education.
