Are you passionate about working with underserved communities, providing intensive case management, and making a tangible impact in the lives of those facing medical, behavioral health, and social challenges? If so, UCSF’s Emergency Department Case Management (EDCM) program at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG) is looking for Clinical Social Workers (CSW I/II) to join our dedicated team!

About the Role

As a Clinical Social Worker at EDCM, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team supporting patients who frequently rely on emergency and inpatient medical services. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive assessment, case management, individual therapy, crisis intervention, and outreach services—all essential in helping patients navigate complex medical, substance use, and psychosocial challenges.

While the EDCM program is not housed in the Emergency Department, our team works closely with hospital staff, providing care onsite and in the community through home visits, appointment accompaniment, and outreach efforts.

Qualifications We’re Looking For

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
• Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a high-stress, high-volume setting
• Experience in case management, behavioral health, or medical settings preferred
• Commitment to working with diverse populations, including those experiencing homelessness, severe mental illness, and substance use challenges
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus!
