SSW Meeting 4/29 Meeting Notes (student notes)

Hi All,

Leah Stegman and I went as student reps to the School of Social Work Meeting today, attached are my notes from the meeting if you are interested. They are quite long but hopefully I got everything

Here are what I feel are the most salient points:

-UCSF/SFSU/USF collaborative on grant from SAMHSA to improve training on substance abuse, contact Eileen if interested.

-Social Work Community Advisory Board: lots of influential people, opportunity for student involvement

-Gerontology Certificate program stalled, hopefully possible for Fall 2014

-MSW & BASW admissions done: orientation is May 29th, MSWC invited to greet students

-E-Field is still a mess...

-MH Stipend re-opened to IFG 1st years who are interested

-Graduation May 19th, 1pm-3pm in McKenna Theater with reception in Jack Adams afterward

-Lourdes to retire, Devi to be full time, SSW hiring 1.5 staff this summer
