Hey folks,
to our immense gratitude, a number of first years expressed interest in helping out at our graduation. I'd like to give you a little update following our graduation committee meeting yesterday afternoon.
We are in the process of finalizing the task list and timeline, but still need to coordinate with the undergraduate students. At this point, we can tell you that the ceremony is on May 19th from 1-3p and the reception is from 3-5p. We will need volunteers during these hours, as well as before and after.
We were wondering if any one or two 1st years might be available as a volunteer coordinator(s) for the day of the graduation. The coordinator would act as the point person for other volunteers; she, he, or they would have a good idea of the time line, what needs to get accomplished, and where things (like food and flowers) need to go. The coordinator would work closely with the graduation committee (I think, more closely towards the date of the graduation - I don't foresee that this would take up a lot of time, actually), and potentially the faculty lead and an undergraduate coordinator.
This would be super helpful for us because it means that someone who is graduating won't have to be directing things on the day of. In addition, it will be helpful for you guys to have someone who really knows how things should look and should run (or could look and could run) next year.
If anyone is interested, please email me!
As always, thanks for being awesome,
Lauren
