Precious Community,
During our last Dana Cafe,
we broke through boards with a single blow - guided by the
encouragement of Hand to Hand instructors Margot Ernst and Kimi Mojica.
We fortified our inner knowing that healing, personal power and growth
are available to us all. It was incredibly inspiring to witness each
and every participant approach a seemingly impossible challenge with
courage and break through!
The Dana Cafe hopes to offer a space where collective healing,
growth and empowerment continue to be co-created. A place where we meet
to break through again and again along this path.
Each month we explore different modalities of self discovery, all
offered for dana (generosity/donations) --you are wholeheartedly invited
to join us at the next session where we will be exploring Taoist yogic
arts with Zemaya Martinez, with more than 30 years experience as a
healer, medicine woman and teacher, Zemaya will lead us through the
first levels of Tai Chi Ruler. Please see details below and mark your
calendars for the 1st Sunday of every month!

Sunday October 6th:
Tai Chi Ruler with Zemaya Martinez
Tai Chi Ruler
is a Taoist Qi Qong set that employs a wooden dowel to aid in the
practice. There are 8 exercises that progress in physical intensity.
Seven of the eight exercises are done from a standing position and one
from a sitting position.
This set
gradually strengthens the legs, knees, deepens the breath, builds the
chi, focus and integrates right and left brain functions. This practice
is great for entering into the world of Tai Chi Chuan or is a wonderful
compliment to an already existent Tai Chi practice. However, Tai Chi
Ruler is a complete practice on its own. This is usually learned in a
session of 8 classes.
For this introduction to Tai Chi Ruler we will be learning the first exercise and the second if time permits.
Come wearing
loose pants and flat comfortable shoes. You can also be barefoot. You
can bring a wooden dowel, 2" in diameter and 11" long, if you like.
However for this first class you can bring the cardboard cylinder from a
used paper towel roll cut to 11".
I look forward to sharing my passion for the Taoist yogic arts with you!
