Pacific Coast Bike Tour Support

Hi Everyone,

I’m touring down the coast in a couple weeks, mostly using the ACA route. I’m hoping to get some advice from anyone who’s done the route recently enough to provide route suggestions for the detour around the Big Sur slide, and about conditions around Malibu. 

For the detour, I have the ACA maps which include a detour route that I’m planning on following, but if anyone is particularly familiar with that section of the ride I’d love any advice that you may have. 

For Malibu, I’ve read that this can be the most unsafe portion of the route. Anyone have a suggestions for that area in general? I’m considering taking the Pacific Surfliner train and skipping that section if it’s not worth the risk. 

Also would appreciate any other advice or suggestions. Thanks!
