Heavy fog at the start and on the Golden Gate Bridge greeted the starting group of 42 riders at 07:00 for today's 200km brevet. From memory, this turn out is the first time this year that there were as many or more riders on a brevet than the the same ride the previous year (and also in spite of the potential deterrent of road closures in the Presidio because of the SF Marathon, and Off the Grid).

It was a good ride and I'm glad I got to meet some of you and ride.  Lots of climbing but outside of the cold weather in the morning, really a fantastic day.

Didn't mention it in time for this year's ride, but I learned recently that you can make the bread run into a proper bread+cheese run:
Just a little way up Bohemian Hwy towards Occidental from Wild Flour.
I've never been, but it looks awesome. :)

Just wanted to say thanks for a fantastic route! Truly enjoyed this ride. Not dealing with the usual SF to White Hill stop and go in the morning made this very unique. Beautiful climbs and descents! Also thanks to all the volunteers!

Well, there is the fact that its a hard, hilly ride and getting back in time means not hangin' and eatin' too much. That said, it might be interesting to check out. Barry and I substituted this for the Cheese Factory stop. A little more convenient and I was sure glad to get some gatorade in me.

By the way, this was a pretty cool route, injecting the max amount of steep hills per area.

Roy.

You mean interjecting the Max amount of steep hills.

Loved the route and I thought it was a great day. Nice riding with so many of you.

Also, I loved seeing the marathoners at the start. It was quite a spectacle and I know I couldn't do what they can do.

Thanks to the volunteers!
