Happy New Year!

Three weeks from today, SFR will be running the Dillon Beach 200k.  However, we currently have no shifts filled for the finish control.

It is a new year and a great time to try something new.  If you have never signed up to support an SFR event, use this link to get started (the same link works for experienced volunteers 😊):

Still not sure?  Here are some great reasons to fill a finish control shift for this event:

  • There will be a worker’s ride.  We’ll find a date that works best for everyone and, importantly, promises good weather (Hint:  worker’s rides don’t often happen in the rain.  The same cannot be said about the actual event)
  • Our club works best when we support each other
  • Show your support for this specific event, if you love the route and want it to stay on the calendar
  • Meet new people (you meet a lot more people as a finish control volunteer than you do out on the road)
  • Help make the day special for a first-time finisher

If you have any questions or need additional information about volunteering for a finish control shift, please contact me directly.

I will also be leading the worker’s ride.  So, reach out to me if you’re interested.  We will a day that works best for everyone.

Sincerely,

Mike Fretz

Good Morning:

I am glad to hear the Populaire and picnic went well!  Hopefully, that bodes well for the Dillon Beach 200k, which is the next event on the calendar.

Here are a couple updates on our event planning:

 - We are looking to fill the last three finish control shifts

 - The workers’ ride date/time is set for Friday, January 16th at 7:00 AM

Sign-up to volunteer this week and you'll have a chance to join the workers’ ride.  The forecast for Friday is very favorable!
