Actually, revisiting that page, most traditional tire sizing systems are a bit cursed, not just French. (Why isn’t “26 x 1 3/8” the same as “26 x 1.375”? Why can “24 x 1 1/8” be either of two incompatible sizes??) ISO sizing helps a lot (584 mm is 584 mm) but I think we should all switch to a nice round 1000 mm diameter rim and leave it at that ;)
All of which is to say, a gentle plea: if you’re buying or selling rims or tires, please include the ISO size alongside the traditional size. We can be the change.
