4/17/26 Point San Pedro repaving open house

Hi All,

On 4/17/26 at San Pedro Elementary, there will be an open house regarding the Point San Pedro repaving project this summer. 

The bottom line is that under the current proposal they're only reducing the two lanes by one foot each, leaving only 2' for bikes where there's parked cars. legal bike lanes are a 4'-6' minimum.

Please go and tell them this is not enough!

• if bikes stay to the right of the new edge line, they are stuck in the door zone and cyclists risk getting t-boned by a car door
• if bikes go to the left of the proposed edge line, cars don't expect it and cyclists risk getting hit by cars or (Yikes!) gravel trucks
