Hello, I'd like to do the Grass Vista 600k and am looking for advice for a hotel to book before/after the ride, and is there a good sleep stop?

Would you recommend a hotel to book mid-ride? Were there drop bags in the past?

Thanks for any advice!
Toshi

Hi Toshi, the Grass Vista 600K is a Gold Country Randonneurs event, not an SFR event. Check out https://sites.google.com/view/goldcountryrandonneurs/home and you might try their listserv or Gmail address (both on that page). Good luck! Drew

Paul,

Do you mind also forwarding info to me?  I'm signed up for their 600, and also their 300 this weekend but I haven't received any event info yet.  I emailed them yesterday morning and am awaiting reply.

Done.
Since this isn't really relevant to SFR, am happy to send to anyone else too, but please just send me an email directly.

Hi Dave,
I'm signed up for 300. See you there.  I've done Grass Valley 600 twice, so can give you more info. No brevet info yet. Only 2 versions of the route found in RideGPS.

The 300 is basically the last half of the 600. Only 2 choices for hotel in Dunnigan. Avoid Super 8, bed bugs. No bag drops either.

Thanks Deb!  I look forward to meeting you and doing my first Davis brevet.

Hey everyone,

Deb here, RBA of Gold Country Randonneurs. I typically do not send ride information until Thursday or Friday before the ride. I do not have the volunteer base that SFR has and I have a very consuming job. It’s pretty much me running the region with 20 events. Hang in there with me if I don’t get to you straightaway. Also, I'll be sending out our next newsletter with upcoming info about the next round of rides, so LMK if you want to be on the mailing list (if you aren’t already).

I'll be getting too your questions tonight I hope, but please be patient. That said, there are many riders in SFR who have joined us and have plenty of intel and experience.

The 600 has an overnight stop in Dunnigan. The choices aren’t great, but there are beds. Others ride through to Woodland and stop there, others ride through all the way back to Davis. I will be doing a drop bag service to Dunnigan.

On a side note, Rob, can you please change my email address in the SFR list (or whomever is managing this) - out with RBA@Davis and in withgoldco...@gmail.com.

Thanks everyone.
