You are correct when you say, “We can be both pro-neighborhood and pro-housing – period." It's a false argument that tries to guilt people into supporting housing under the pretense that the under-housed will benefit. We know that it is big-money interests that benefit from such development. San Francisco is a historic city and so much of it is being destroyed using these kinds of false pretenses. Mayor Breed knows which side her bread is buttered and, thus, follows the will of developers. I hope in the next mayoral election, someone with more of a conscience and understanding of the importance of preserving history and neighborhoods - someone like yourself - will be the victor.
