Good morning,

It looks like Thursday is the day that will work for most.   I realized in my first email I didn't mention a time I just assumed it would be after work not thinking that the work day means different things to different people.  If kids are coming chick fil a is perfect if mot we could meet a north hills somewhere.   I work in the morning Thursday so I could make a late afternoon early evening.   It would be great to avoid rush hour which doubles the drive time from Cary.

I wad thinking that gor Kristen and Charlie we need to do later.

Hi ladies,

I spoke with Kim at The Greenway Club and we are set for the 13th of September. She is going to give us from 12 noon on to get setup, decorate, or whatever we need.  The "rental" starts at 6.  She also said we should set a time to come over and see the space and figure out where we want everything to go.  She also had some questions about the alcohol.  She said that we can have it there, but she's not sure the legality if we sell the alcohol.  So we may need to bill this as a fundraiser, or a cornhole tournament that you buy tickets to attend the party and the beer tasting is just something you get with the purchase of the event ticket?   She said she would talk to a friend of hers who does events and fundraisers at another club to see what the legality and liability would need to be.

She also said that they have a cleaning service that we can get for $75 or we can clean it ourselves.  She said either is fine, but we need to book ahead of time if we want their cleaning team to come in.

Jane had a friend who was interested in putting up a vendor table to sell 31 gifts at the party.  I didn't know what everyone's thoughts were about this? 

I think we need to get a fb invite out asap so people can get the date on the calendar.  Then figure out how we want to handle the flyers/tickets.  Basically, I need to know how to bill or sell this event.  Is it simply just a Breast Cancer Fundraiser and we will put in the info that we will have the craft beers available to taste as well as the cornhole and pool table for a tournament.  Gift basket for the winners, etc?  Let people know they need to buy tickets to participate?

Thoughts?  Feedback?

With 14 weeks of training left I thought I would touch base with you all about fundraising and training.
 Are any of you interested in doing some of the longer training walks as a group.  Helen and I did about 8 miles yesterday.  We are going to try to add a few miles to our longer walks each week.  For those of you who think it would be fun to get together and hit the pavement let me know your schedule the weekend of July 25th and we will see if we can find a time and a location that works for everyone.  It is more fun with more people.

Should we try to get together again and work on the beer tasting which has the potential event event.  I would like to get save the dates out in the next two weeks.  Where are we on the Rocky Mount fundraiser?  

 The joy of being together at the lake with the Enichen clan was tempered with the reality of the progression of Holly's cancer.  I did the last walk for Susie because it was her dream and she is my cousin and I love her but this time I am doing it because I feel so powerless in the face of this disease.  I am walking to raise awareness, I am walking to raise money for research, I am walking for change.  I thought about Susie yesterday morning as I was preparing to leave the house to meet Helen for our walk I think of her a lot lately. The journey of the breast cancer walk is not the same without her but we have the opportunity to do this in her honor because we are and always will be Susie's Family Olympians.
