Well, I took a little road trip yesterday.  Went up to Cache Creek to do some gambling.  Decided to take my truck.  According to the scangauge, mpg was anywhere from 8-20 at times lol.  The overheating of the wheels/brakes is gone.  The night before I loosened all the lug nuts and retorqued them to 76#.  Maybe that was the problem, maybe it was something else.  Don’t know, but its solved at least.  Water temperature varied from 184-190.  I am still running 100% distilled water, I am still working on the coolant filter as seen on Mud.  Gears worked great, truck didn’t struggle up little hills on the way up, just kept plodding along without much struggle.  And yes, I did win a little money 8-)

Hope everyone else had a good weekend.

Jon.

Jon,

You are not worry about corrosion or rust risk with running distilled
water???

Not for the short time that it will be in there. I want it thoroughly
flushed from the old coolant/tap water when I fill it with Toyota
red/distilled water. I have one more flush planned then the coolant filter
install.
