Hi,

I just got my Slee 4 inch kit, I’ll be installing this starting tomorrow morning.  I have a small basic tool set but if you would like to wrench on your truck or just hang out you are more than welcome to stop by. We can get some beers and pizza going too.

Hi Juan,

I miss this message. Are you done with your lift? I would love to
come visit you someday.

Well, I guess it is time to finally say hi and introduce myself. I have
been just kicking around reading posts, kind of like ih8mud, been there
since 2005 and just hit 120 posts. I like to read 8-)
Well, with that being said, I live in Fremont, I am in a fairly central
location. My truck is a 97 LX450 that is the green metallic with the dark
grey flares and body cladding. I have a ARB front bumper with a M12000
winch, a 4x4 Labs rear bumper, OME heavy lift (going to 4 or 6 Slee lift
when I decide which to get), 315 Toyo MTs. I am currently replacing the
radiator, water pump, thermostat, phh, all other hoses as well. Also got
the Urban Land Cruiser battery cable replacements, putting those in this
week. After I finish all of this, truck is going to my friends shop where
it is getting regeared to either 4.88 or 5.29, not sure at this point,
haven't decided on that either. Also he will be doing a front axle rebuild
since he is going to be taking off most of the stuff to get in there. Also
getting new front and rear rotors and pads and going to the 100 series pads
in front.

Well, that's about all there is to say, so Hi everyone, hope to chat more
often.

Jon.

Welcome! Let us know which you decide on the 4.88 or 5.29 gears. I'm
also running the 315's and am torn between the two as well.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the welcome. My friend, who runs the shop where I am going,
suggested the 5.29s as that will take me to lower (gear wise) than the
original stock tires & 4.10s and would allow me, if I decide to go bigger
than 315s in the future. I don't want to go 4.88s and regret not going to
5.29s and I don't want to have the work done twice. I know there is a limit
to how large a tire we can go without seriously stressing the components. I
am thinking 36/37 for the top size and call it done after that. I don't
know for sure, I will be talking to him next week, so I will keep you guys
informed. Time to head off to work, you guys have a great day.

Jon.

Welcome Jon. Are you doing all PM by yourself or is your friend
helping you out?

I am doing this all myself 8-) Well, all except the gear change. Since
they are doing that and have to take off all the brake items, there is no
extra charge to replace all the rotors/pads. I am also replacing all the
wheel bearings and having the front end/knuckle rebuilt too. Should be good
to go for a long while now that everything has been done. Sourced all my
parts from CDan with the addition of the Marlin Crawler HD axle seals. I am
going to let my friend look at both since I ordered the OEM from CDan and
see what he says. He is a lot more knowledgeable about that stuff than
myself.

Jon.
