This book provides earth scientists with an introduction to microbiology and a look at the ways microorganisms are important to their area of expertise. The first part of this book summarizes some basic information about microorganisms, including a discussion of their diversity, physical properties, and metabolisms. From there, the second and third portions of the book are organized around the two-way interactions between microorganisms and their environments. The second portion of the book considers the ways that environmental conditions help determine distributions of microbial activity, including chapters focused on thermodynamic, kinetic, and biological factors. The third and final portion of the book examines the impacts of microbes on their environments. These impacts are placed within the context of earth system science, with chapters focused on impacts to the lithosphere, atmosphere, and hydrosphere. In these chapters, emphasis is placed on microbial impacts to greenhouse gas levels and the quality of water resources, underscoring the relevance of microbiology to environmental concerns of keen interest in the earth science community and beyond.
This book is specifically designed for earth science students and can provide a helpful free resource for students in Geomicrobiology courses. However, portions of the book can also have value for students and professionals from any field who are interested in environmental microbiology.

I have been working on a few projects in GEE for the past year. Access to GEE code editor has now been revoked (I've been told that Google wants the US Fish and Wildlife Service to pay to use GEE now). I would like to at least retain the scripts that I've written. In the developers guide it states that "The Scripts manager stores private, shared and example scripts in Git repositories hosted by Google." Is there a way to access personal scripts in the git repository without having to sign into the code editor?
Click on the settings icon next to the repository name for instructions oncloning the repository. Note that you can browse the repositories towhich you have access by going to earthengine.googlesource.com. Forsome Git operations, you may need to create authentication credentialsby going to the Generate Password link at the top of theearthengine.googlesource.com page.
I'm interested in integrating 3d topography in my product designs and I am curious if anyone know of a way to import or download a custom 3d earth surface from Google Earth or other such software directly into Fusion 360, and then continue to model it to fit it within a product design.
I haven't used it before but I believe this app from the Autodesk App Store might do what you want. I see that it is only available for Windows so hopefully that's what you're using. I don't know of any other existing solutions.
The app you suggested is very close to what i was looking for. It does exactly that, it brings 3d terrain from earth into Fusion 360, but the problem is that it only brings very small chunks of it. I guess it is designed for small building plots, while I was looking more into bringing in mountains If you know of a way to do that from within the app, that I might have missed, please let me know.
In the mean time, I found that a better way for large portions of earth is to import the via "Add location" in Sketchup (which can bring in 1sqkm of terrain in one go and you can stitch more if you want to) and then import it in Fusion and go from there.
