Hey all,
I am helping to organize a BioBlitz this coming Saturday, April 15th, along with Nature In the City -- as part of Nature in the City's Green Hairstreak Butterfly Festival, and also -- it's a chance to add some observations for Cal Academy's City Nature Challenge.
The Bioblitz will explore parts of the lovely Green Hairstreak Corridor in the Sunset, and will have some Nature in the City experts on hand to talk about the project and nature therein.
The location is 2228 14th Ave - the rear parking lot of Hoover Middle School.
The festival goes from 10-2
The Bioblitz goes from 11-1... Sign up Here:
The City Nature Challenge is 4/14 - 4/18, and puts cities across the country into competition with each other to see who can turn up the most nature. Last year, between LA and SF there were some 20,000 observations. This year it's 16 cities.
Plenty of other opportunities to make observations if you can't make this BioBlitz:
Hope to maybe see you this weekend!
Adrian
P.S. In other news, a couple of people have expressed some interest in helping me out, so more news on that front soon.
