Jean-Francois,
The most common reason for this happening is a mismatch between the JRE (32- or 64-bit) and the installer used. However, as you say you are using both 32 bit this should not be a problem. The first thing to check is whether there are any log files (or indeed any files) created in the home directory. Can you look in c:\ProgramData\InMon\sFlowTrend-Pro (by default, unless you changed it on installation), then in the log directory. If there are files in the log directory, can you zip them up and send to
sflow...@inmon.com.
If not, then it seems that the service is never really starting. Are you using the Oracle JRE, and which version? We can try switching on logging for the service itself. To do this:
1. Control Panel>System>Advanced System Settings, click Environment Variables
2. At the bottom, click New to add a System environment variables as:
INSTALL4J_LOG value=yes
3. Restart the sFlowTrend-Pro server service
4. The log files (for stopping and starting the service) will be in C:\Windows\Temp\i4j_nlog_*
5. After generating the log files, the environment variable can be removed if desired.
Note that because sFlowTrend-Pro is a service, the system environment variable must be set in the control panel, rather than just at a command prompt.
thanks,
Stuart
