Future development: please make a 1.3 branch

The svn directory structure of this plugin has always been a bit
weird. We have /1.0/trunk and unnecessary /1.0/branches/... folders,
instead of /branches/1.0 and /trunk. But that's the way it is, given
the length of time it's been this way and the number of people who
have svn externals pointing at it.
That being the case, we need a branch to pin our stable projects to
and expect to stick with the same major version of jQuery and not get
any new features that unexpectedly break things. (Yes, we have moved
off the plugin for new development but we have existing projects that
still require it.)
So please, if you decide to switch to jQuery 1.4 or add new helpers,
make a /1.3 folder and use that, and allow /1.2 to be a stable branch
for those of us who only want bug fixes to the existing functionality.
Our recommendation to you would be not to bother - migrate away from
the plugin and move on with real jQuery - but it's your plugin too and
we can all get along if we branch at appropriate times.
