I haven't been in a user group since the DC - Adabas (old school NoSql distributed data storage) user group in 1992 so I don't know how to introduce myself. I'm building a system using App Engine - Java flavor using HR data store. Just started using this stuff for the Cloud support and eventual integration with Maps, calender and docs. 

I am getting along ok and I'm afraid other than buying beers after meetings I'll be of little use but I'd like to get involved in some way so I'd like to hear back from someone.

Welcome! We're a tightly wound community down here in South Florida, but unfortunately not very much online communication going on.

Nelson, Very nice to hear from you. In my experience "tightly wound communities" are usually based in the middle east, don't go to pubs after work and tend to isolate. Describe sfgtrug? 

Seriously though, it is good to hear from someone who is using App Engine. I'm developing a sort of Zen Cart+ for a non-profit I'm associated with to run in the Goolge cloud. I'm using Java, eclipse and HR data storage but I'm looking at the MySql stuff. 

I'm done with the guts of the system and now I'm looking at sharpening up the GUI and implementing an online catalog, looking into jquery but would consider GWT. Any thoughts on this? 

I'll keep track of the meeting schedule and I look forward to hearing from you.
