F18 Tragedy

I’m sorry to report that Sandra Tartaglino was killed this past weekend racing her F18 during the New England 100.  I knew her as passionate sailor and an excellent helm who loved catamaran sailing- F18, H16, N17, etc...  She will be missed by all.  

She gave a lot back to the sport, currently serving as US F18 treasurer and had been the lead organizer of the Regatta in which she was killed.  

There aren’t many details other than she was struck by a 25’ powerboat in broad daylight.  Here  are a couple links with more information:

This is a terrible tragedy, I had the chance to race with Sandra at Nationals down in Long Beach she was a highly competitive and passionate sailor and I’ll miss seeing her out on the water.

 

Thanks for letting us know Charles, she’ll be in our hearts and thoughts.
