I have recently lost all of my installed software and am just now
starting up Free Agent. I am unable to find news.sff. or
sff.discuss.heinlein-forum on the twenty thousand plus list of
available newsgroups. I would to configure for the Heinlein Forum. Any
help you (or anyone) can give will be greatly appreciated!

BTW: I am using Netscape Communicator 4.05 to try and reach our forum.

Gary:
Thank you for the valuable information. Following your
instructions I am 95% back to my original configuration. I used to
get the new message headers and the bodies to download at the same
time. Now it will only get the headers. I must select (highlight)
the headers and go after the message body manyally. I can't seem to
find the option to automatically retrieve the body with the header.
Any suggestions? - - -- Again, thanks for the setup info.

Yes indead! <G> With a little help from my friends, that is.

Gary:
I found the download option for Free Agent to retrieve bodies with
message headers. For anyone who uses F.A. and wants to use this
time saver: Go to the GROUP menu option; select PROPERTIES; it
should then be headed: "Properties for Selected Groups", use the
RETRIEVING tab; check off the "Overide default Settings" box; then
check off the "Retrieve bodies for all messages" box; click OK and
this should do the trick.

Right you are. 20k+ newsgroups sounds like your ISP's Usenet
feed. This isn't Usenet.

Set your NNTP host to news.sff.net in your Free Agent setup,
then refresh your groups list. You'll find closer to 800
groups. That's us.

After Gary C. pointed this out to me in a private E-Mail, I
changed this and it was as you said. I am now able to find the
Forum with Free Agent.
Thanks for information,

sincerely,

BTW: you have an interesting Web site.
