Got a new computer about three weeks ago(are new one always a pain?)
Took a week to get it up & running(note to bytor: it was the modem,
apparently this motherboard uses com port 1&2, the modem also on com
1, why doesn't Win'95 mention these things?) So after getting that
taken care of & various other binary type adventures,we can't seem to
make either Internet mail & news work to get here, nor will Netscape
work(sorry JT, it was a game try) So we D/Led free agent(thanx JT)
this morning & voila!! voici Fader.

Looks like things have been busy while I was gone it'll take a while
for me to catch up,it was nice to see that I was #10 on the posting
list(surprising actually) I like being in the top 10<bg>

Welcome back, Fader! ("We tease him a lot, 'cause we got him on the
spot. Welcome back. Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back." --
Sorry, nearly everything reminds me of a song lyric or TV show theme
today.)

I just tried a new kind of coffee, and I wanted to see if you had
experience with it. It's called Chipinge, and at least the stuff I
received is from Zimbabwe. It's _very_ smooth and mellow. I think I
have a new favorite!

Because PnP in Win95 has a number of failings. As a rule, when installing a
modem you want to do two things- disable COM 2 in the BIOS, and set the
modem to use COM2, if it isn't PnP. A PnP modem will usually figure it out,
but if not, go to Modems in the Control Panel and change the COM port on
your modem, listed under Properties.

Modems which use COM 1 are a major pain, because many mice also use COM1,
resulting in problems ranging from no modem to no mouse to computer hangs
when you dial.

Glad to see you made it. I know it -can- work--doesn't BC connect via
AOL & Netscape? But if you're happy, problem solved. ;)

Fader, if you are running IE 4.05 and were trying to get mail through OE, I
may be able to solve the problem for you. big...@lemoorenet.com (Just
got a new one myself, and got it going 3 days ago.)

Life is strange. It just happens that as I sit here the am pot of
coffee is brewing. It's loaded with that very coffee, it is very good.
Still it don't hold up to Kona, but certainly less expensive.

JT--
Yes, I connect with AOL and Netscape. Fader was using AOL and IE.
It worked on his old computer, but not on his new one. Strange.

Fader-

Somehow it doesn't surprise me in the least that you were drinking the
very coffee that I would mention!

I just thought it a little coincidental, which I always have a hard
time with. It's not like there aren't a whole lot of different coffees
out there.
