So I have just looked at http://softwarefreedomday.org.nz/ and was
wondering what to do with the existing pages. It looks like 2009 pages
were archived so there must be a way to do that with 2010 pages.

Who is going to work on the website this year? Are CWA still
sponsoring the website? Who should I ask about this please?

I don't know how to use eZ Publish very well so haven't touched
anything yet (and am assuming that we still will use this website this
way). I am hoping someone more talented can help with archiving old
pages and making new pages that we can just edit for each region.
Perhaps they should say "2011 details coming soon" or similar on each
regions page. Also the sponsors will need to be updated.

hi Tabitha,

Let me know what you hear back from Paul, I do have a good contact at
CWA we can talk to if Paul isn't available.

IIRC, the idea was that the domain would be transferred to NZOSS by CWA,
but this never happened due to a combination of delays by both parties
IIRC.

As a backup, I do own the sfd.org.nz domain which can always be pointed
somewhere useful - I grabbed it as backup and for short URLs last
year. :-)

I can probably get an actual eZ publish developer to help us with this
if I bribe him with enough $beverage. :-)

One of the changes we discussed last year was turning
softwarefreedomday.org.nz into a national landing page, with links to
subdomains for each region-specific event.

jethro

Well, based on the bounce, it sounds like Paul isn't at CWA any more - I
will talk with my contact. :-)

Hi

Would any other city like me to update their page on the software
freedom day website? http://softwarefreedomday.org.nz/

I have just started the Auckland 2011 page and archived off the 2010
page for reference, so I can do the same for your city if you want.

If you haven't started planning your event yet, you probably want to
start as 17 September is not far away!

Okay, next question... how do I change the register page on the
http://softwarefreedomday.org.nz site? It does not let the registering
attendee specify the city they will attend which kind of makes the
form useless given there are events all over NZ each year. Help! I
think it might be that I don't have permission to edit the form but I
am not sure.

Still don't know who to ask. Whois says that the domain is registered
to "ICT Systems Department" so it didn't get transferred to NZOSS. The
emails listed are pretty generic techn...@learningmedia.co.nz and
edu...@cwa.co.nz.
