Hey SFC,

A friend of mine just re-introduced me to the awesomeness that is
double dutch. Hadn't done it since about the 5th grade, but quickly
renewed my love. Just wanted some advice on how to build my skills -
or any groups/classes that I can join/take.

Thanks!

Amanda

Single rope jumping really helped me learn double dutch. Getting the boxer step down and timing the # of jumps in a minute really pushes you to the limit. Circuit training (squats and push ups, etc.) mixed with single rope jumping really helps with endurance as well. :)

Hey Amanda!

Stacey is starting a weekly event in the East Bay:

Double dutch is like riding a bike. When we were teaching, we could
always tell if someone has done it before (even if it was years and
years ago). That said, I think one of the most important things is
finding a group that you can meet with and rely on. Watch youtube
videos and stick with it! It's hard but oh so rewarding.

I'm hoping that when the weather gets nicer people will start having
meetups more often (myself included). Welcome to the community!

XO,
Switchblade
