Fellow Lions,
If you are receiving a message from this mailing list for the first time, welcome to the San Francisco Coordinating Council of Lions Clubs group. You have been added as a new President or Secretary of a San Francisco based Lions Club, and it is our wish that you bring news of the Council's activities you receive here back to your club and encourage their participation in Council events.
We are the SFCCLC, one of two Councils in Lions District 4-C4. We meet monthly on the fourth Wednesday of each month (with some exceptions) with the purpose:
- To assist the individual efforts and endeavors of the clubs of the Council whenever possible in keeping Lionism as expressed in the Constitution and By-laws and the Code of Ethics of Lions International and no action or recommendation or resolution of the Council shall be adopted or undertaken in conflict therewith.
- To facilitate communication and exchange of ideas among clubs members
- To coordinate dates and social functions to avoid conflicts.
- To encourage cooperative efforts on clubs projects of mutual interest that benefit the members.
- To get acquainted with administrative personnel and members of other Lions Clubs.
- To share with other Lions Clubs the source of good and beneficial projects.
Speaking of getting back to your clubs, at our last
General Meeting in June, the Body moved to nominate the following incoming officers of the Council:
- President Peter T. Lam, AIA, SF Chinatown Lions
- 1st Vice President August Valera III, SF Fil-Am Lions
- 2nd Vice President Sharon Eberhardt, SF Geneva Excelsior Lions
- Secretary Evelyn Paje, SF Host Lions (replacing Dan Yee, SF Nikkei Lions who later declined the nomination)
- Treasurer Fevelyn Ching Evaristo, SF Dynamic Lions
- Immediate Past President Rodrigo Cayabyab. SF Host Lions
Normally, our election would have taken place at that same meeting. Due to the fact that it was held online, the PDG Advisors of the Council recommended that notice be sent out to all the clubs publicizing the nominees and asking for their appointment to be confirmed by the Council's member clubs. This email shall serve as that notice.
At this time, we ask that the Secretary or President of each member club confirm the above nominees by emailing a simple YES vote along with your name and your position within the club. Send this as an email to sfccl...@googlegroups.com, with the subject being the name of the club you represent. Note that this is a decision that you would normally make during the course of a single Council meeting, so you should not feel obligated to have your club's Board vote on it (although you are welcome to bring it back to them and ask for their input).
Here is an example email we wish to receive:
Subject: San Francisco Fil-Am Lions Club
I vote YES to approve the nominated SFCCLC officers as presented.
We thank you for your cooperation in this matter, and look forward to a long and fruitful year serving you on the Council.
