The Bike Kitchen is teaching 2 classes this August.  Please see the details below.

August 7th Wheel Truing Class at the Bike Kitchen

Do you have a wheel that needs a bit of love? Maybe it has a broken spoke, or wobbles a little bit. In this class we will teach you how to replace and adjust the spokes to get your wheel back in shape. If you have a wheel that needs repair, bring it. If you don't we have wheels that you can work on.

In one class session we will cover the following topics:

  • Truing a wheel
  • Replacing spokes
  • Spoke Tension
  • Wheel Dish (centering)

The class takes place over one day:

  • Sunday August 7th, from 6:30PM to 9:00PM

No previous bike knowledge is required or expected, but a willingness to learn and have fun is a must!

The class will be hands-on, so bring a bike and get ready to get greasy.

Food is not provided for our classes, but you are welcome to bring snacks.

The fee for this class is a sliding scale: $25-40 for Bike Kitchen members or $75-90 for non-members. Enrolling in the class as a non-member also buys you a year-long membership at the Bike Kitchen. Class size is limited to ten. If you do not currently have a membership you MUST select a ticket price that has "Non-Member" in the description.

Refund Policy: we offer refunds up to 96 hours before the start of the class. Cancellation after that point involves forfeiting the class payment. If you are unable to attend a paid class, your new membership is still valid and you are welcome to visit us during regular shop hours and speak to our staff mechanics.
