Bay Area folks, I’m organizing some 18xx games for KublaCon. These aren’t official events, just folks playing in the open gaming area.
Last year I got in a couple games of 1828 and a couple 1830s. I'd not thought about attending this year. I guess it is a bit late to schedule an 18C2C again.
I’m using Line chat to do this. If you want to be included use this link to add me as a friend on Line.
Why Line as versus say Google Hangouts or Slack both of which are already extensively used in this area?

I take public transit. If you can get to the International Terminal at SFO, there's a frequent free hotel shuttle. I understand parking can be quite difficult.
I've been parking across the street for many years now without problem.

The reason for Line is that as I'm organizing the games I wanted to be able to control who I wanted to organize for. If I get a player that is disruptive and people don't want to play with I can kick them from the group. I'm of course hoping that doesn't happen, but I wanted the option to do it.
Nod. I'll be there, I'll play 18xx and that's probably as much organisation as I'll bother with.
BTW, someday I do want to schedule an 18OE playthrough. Doubt it will be Kubla though.
Current local discussion is on getting an 18C2C-D game organised. The plan is to dry-run the private auction and a few other bits over the next weeks in prep for a game maybe June-ish.

Line works for me.
I resent adding yet another client/platform. Slack, Hangouts, Skype, Discord, Gitter, XMPP, Duo, Line…
This is my first time at KublaCon – for those of you local, would you recommend staying at the hotel or are you driving in every day?
Depends what you want from the convention. Parking isn't such a problem, but transport time can be a significant drag that steals not only from both ends of the day (and is unpleasant when very tired), but also from the periods when key game setup/planning tends to happen.

Looking to get in a learning game or two at Kubla with JC and/or others. Added you, thanks.
I should be there in the afternoons and evenings.
