Unique IDs

From what I've seen in sample application the framework expects UI
elements to have unique ID accross whole application, or am I wrong?
Generally ID must be unique only in mxml file, so how about complex
application composed from a bunch of mxmls where ID uniqueness is not
enforced by mxml schema? Is there a way to access individual
components hierarchically from main.mxml?

You can use label=XXX to find the component.
