Hi All,

Ok, if this list is going to be of any use, we will need a critical mass of people with both interesting problems and interesting solutions.  To achieve this, we probably need to recruit list (er, group) members in the usual places.

Personally, I rarely drag my physical gluteus maximus to meat space meetings (although, of course, they could be of real use for a group like this,) so I'm most interested in helping to build a useful online forum.

Unless anyone has any objections to broadening the audience, I would like to send an announcement to noisebridge-discuss, boxshop, flg-electronics, and swarm.  I would be happy to send a message to dorkbot-sf, but it occurs to me maybe someone else would rather do this.  If anyone has access to the ardent list, any Crucible or Techshop resources, or any SF Make lists, I could imagine these could be good venues as well.  Maybe I'll send it to the Stanford Smart Product Design Lab coaches list too.

Any sayers of nay?  Any suggestions or people who would like to take this in a different direction?  Anyone have thoughts as to how to describe the group?

-Mike

Hi Mike,
No nay saying here! It might be good to discuss this group in analogy
to SFmicrocontrollers -- an informal group of people that meet to
discuss their analog circuit projects. (Come to think of it, a lot of
those groups would would probably like to know about the microcontroller
group, too.)
