The Welcome To The NeighborHOO D, Community Engagement Project
Opening Reception
Saturday, April 9, 2011
12–2 pm
The EcoCenter at Herons Head Park
32 Jennings St. @ Cargo Way
San Francisco, CA 94124
Led by Wendy Tetsu, the collaboration with youth from Literacy for Environmental Justice and several local artists has culminated in the creation of an interactive installation in the newly opened EcoCenter, San Francisco’s first off-the-grid public building and environmental education center. LEJ has been working to make the EcoCenter a reality for more than 10 years and recently opened its doors to the public.
The Multidisciplinary Artwork was created over the past two years and explores environmental and social justice issues facing the community of Bayview Hunters Point as seen through the eyes of its youth. Come celebrate with the community the long awaited convergence of the two projects.
Monthly rotation of the individual artwork through September 1, 2011
Order your copy of Volume #3 of the photo documentary book and film about the project. All proceeds will go to LEJ.
