In case you hadn't heard about this though other social media forums.  I'm doing this ride for the 3rd year and would encourage others here to think about joining.  I like the route a lot and it's generally a good group of folks of varying abilities.

Greetings from Rapha/One More City HQ.

Thank you for signing up for the Rapha/One More City Century. Please find below some details for this coming Saturday's ride.  There are still spots available.  Please forward to your friends and family so they can sign up and help out with our fundraising efforts.  If they cannot ride, have them come by the One More City village between 3:00PM-6:00PM to enjoy some refreshments and live music.

FUNDRAISING - We are raising money for UCSF’s Metastatic Breast Cancer Research Department

We have made it easy for you to fundraise. Please create a rider page and start your effort here.  We have raised approximately $10,000 so far and are targeting $30,000. We will keep this campaign open throughout the month of October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month).

Please share your fundraising with friends and family.  Remember our brand partners contribute to help keep this ride free to all so please donate what you can to raise money for UCSF’s Breast Cancer Research Department.

To raise social media awareness for the ride, here is the link to Rapha’s instagram post from today.  Please like and share it.

Auction Items:

Flour+Water 10 person Pasta Making Class and Dinner - Starting Bid $2,500 - please email me your best offer.  Remember 100% of your contribution will go to UCSF’s Breast Cancer Center. -this is a great family or corporate event!

We are introducing a zinger of an auction item - our friends at Flour+Water have been kind enough to donate a 10 person pasta class taught by Flour+Water’s very own chef. Guests will practice mixing dough and explore making pasta with a hand-cranked pasta machine as well as shaping and forming several pasta shapes. Cheese & salumi boards will be provided throughout the interactive course along with sparkling wine. At the end of the class, participants will sit down to a three-course pasta-focused dinner with wine pairings. Each guest will leave with fresh pasta to cook at home.

>>>We still have two other auction items available - see below and please email me with your best offer. I have personally used both Cesar and Sofi with life-altering success. Get a bike fit and/or a nutrition consult and help fight Breast Cancer along the way!

1. Cassette Bike Fit - Starting Bid $300Cesar Correa is the founder of Cassette Fit Studio. His journey in bike fitting began back in 2013 at 3DBikeFit in San Francisco, where he spent over a decade helping riders of all levels unlock more comfort, power, and efficiency on the bike. Now, with Cassette Fit Studio, he brings that same depth of experience and attention to detail into a more personal, rider-first space.

2. Coach Sofi Nutrition Consultation - Starting Bid $300. This is an opportunity to speak one-on-one with expert Nutritionist and Cycling Coach Sofi Marin. Receive evidence-based answers to your specific nutrition and  training questions. Discover sports performance nutrition strategies, healthy and sustainable nutrition tips, learn about training/fueling for your menstrual cycle, or optimize your daily eating. Enjoy a 50-minute video consultation with Coach Sofi.

ROUTE AND RIDE UPDATE

You can find the official route HERE with an overview by Miles from Bicycle Law HERE. You can find the Strava route HERERemember, the route changed from last year so please review it and watch the video.

  • Check in starts at 7:45 along with complementary coffee (provided by Rapha). We will be checking your registration so please have this available.  Upon confirmation you will receive a wristband which will allow you to join the ride.
  • Line up starts at 8:10 - Faster riders towards the front and the rest (like me) towards the back.
  • Ride briefing at 8:15
  • Rollout at 8:30
  • Village open from 3:00-6:00
  • Cutoff at the Clubhouse at 6:00PM

As of this writing, Epic Ride Weather (see below) shows a small chance of a sprinkle of rain in the AM and lots of smiley faces. With this said, please be prepared and bring gear just in case and keep an eye out for updates.

Some other Pre and Post ride comments and considerations:

1. Please remember this is a self-supported ride.  Come prepared to fully care for yourself throughout the entire ride, including rain gear.  Whereas Rapha will have some ride leaders across the field, their role is to provide advice and help when possible. There is no official sag vehicle and ride leaders will not be sweeping. You should attempt to partner up with a few people of similar abilities and share the day together. Bring your own nutrition, water, and repair kits/tools. Please let your friends and/or family members know where you will be riding. Invite them to enjoy our village (opens at 3:00) while they wait for you to show up.

2. Drip/Filtered coffee will be provided by Rapha in the AM.

3. Rapha is providing a bag drop in the morning so please leave extra time in the event you need to do so. PLEASE MARK YOUR BAG WITH YOUR NAME IN BIG LETTERS.  Bring a Hoodie and Sweats for after the ride so you can enjoy the free drinks and live music while sharing all the wonderful stories from the road with your new friends and old.

4. As previously discussed, we will be checking everyone’s tickets and providing wristbands and raffle tickets upon confirming your REGISTRATION. Unlike last year, we will all be lining up together, faster groups in the front and slower groups in the back. Again, there is no sag vehicle and ride leaders will do their best to keep people moving throughout the day. Speaking of moving throughout the day, please try and keep your breaks relatively short because those times add up. Consider a few 5 minute rest stops and one 1/2 hour stop at Point Reyes Station.

5. PLEASE download the route to be available offline in case you don't have cell service. Please review the route and all of the points of interest and call outs.

6. Please be sure to obey ALL traffic signs and stops as well as your ride leaders.

7.Please have friends and family come visit you upon your arrival. Filbert street will be closed down in front of Rapha and the village will be open between 3:00PM-6:00PM.  Bike parking spots will be available and we will have free drinks and live music.

8. As we understand it, you can find public parking available here.

9. Cutoff time for the clubhouse arrival is 6:00PM. Please bring lights to potentially be used before and/or after the ride.  If you leave a bag at the clubhouse and arrive after 6:30PM, you will need to come back the next day or another day.

10. Safety considerations:
For safety reasons, we encourage you to bring lights and of course, a helmet is mandatory.  The beginning of the ride may be a bit dark as well as your finish and especially if you hang for the after-ride festivities. We also HIGHLY encourage foot retention. Additionally, we do not allow time trial nor triathlon bikes on these rides.  Whereas we love our TT and Triathlon friends, there are too many situations where these bikes can be challenging in a group setting. Please be sure to ride within your ability and do your best to pair up with small groups or another person.  This is meant to be a challenging ride but also social and not a race.  Make some new friends and be supportive of each other. As mentioned in the past, there will be a handful of ride leaders out there to help where possible. Please always obey the ride leaders as they are experienced and have your best interest in mind!

POST RIDE ACTIVITIES - One More City Village

We closed the street down in front of Rapha so you can arrive safely and take your time. There will be bike parking spots at the clubhouse from 3:00-6:00. After the ride, there will be beverages as well as live music by The Vaughn Cannon Trio. We will also have drawings for Rapha and other swag (you will get raffle tickets upon check in).  Please feel free to invite friends and family to join the after-ride festivities. We will also have various Brand Partners on site with their products and services if you have any questions and want to learn more.

SEE YOU ALL NEXT SATURDAY AT 7:45am.

Reminder - Check in and coffee start at 7:45 and will end at 8:10  - Rollout will happen between 8:15-8:30 so please be ready.
