I broke my foot three years ago (several broken bones and tore my lizfranc) and Saxena was the surgeon that fixed me up. I had a super positive experience. One thing that I really liked was that he definitely seemed to take an athlete's look at things - i.e. his objective was to get me back and active as soon as possible - none of that "oh, sorry, you should just avoid running/cycling from now on" crap.
One thing I did feel from him though is that there was a definite snobbery with regards to the athleticism of the patient and interestingness of the injury. It felt that he was interested because I was intense about my sports and that my foot was pretty messed up. I've heard of several instances of people going to him and him basically not being interested. So, all in all, I'd say if he's interested in what you have, Saxena is amazing - if not, find someone else :).
