Third of three rides next week to mark the BTWD route.  Hopefully, by this point, the stickering will already be done, and this will be a pre-ride to check on the markings and to fill in any gaps.

Business-like style 2.  I do plan to do FCF.

If anyone is willing to make a detour to Millbrae on Wednesday (maybe take a more direct, non-Bayway route to get there?) it might be worth stickering the route from there until it meets the standard Bayway.

Also, no idea which other days still need stickering help, but I do plan to participate Monday and Tuesday in addition to Wednesday. I don't know if I'll join from Ritual, or my usual location at Blanken and Tunnel. I could also cover turns between Facebook and BTN some evening, if I ride to Redwood City instead of Menlo Park - especially if someone else wants to join me for a highly abbreviated yawyaB.

I sometimes ride from Millbrae, so I could probably sticker that before Thursday if I can get the stickers & instructions from someone.

Bumping for visibility.

The route is fully stickered, so for tomorrow, the plan is just to ride the whole route (including Mission to Cortland and FCF) and fill in stickers where there happen to be gaps and/or stickers that haven't held up well.

Nice job laying down the route arrows, Tuesday crew. It looked great this morning. It will really help a lot of people who are not familiar with the route.

The one place I noticed this morning that could use some TLC is the left turn from Paul to San Bruno Avenue. The arrow was already starting to deteriorate.

WRT the park rangers: has anyone ever scouted out this route:

From Airport (after the Anza Sprint), instead of going onto the bike path:

- Continue on Airport to Peninsula
- Right on Peninsula
- Left on North Bayshore Blvd.
- Becomes 2nd
- Left on E. 3rd
- Becomes J. Hart Clinton

skipping the parks altogether.

Move waterstop to the nice little park near the Oracle campus (after the bridge).

Just a thought

I may have lost some stickers between BTN and Seaport, so keep an eye out there if you see them....

Thanks, David! David A. saw that and is planning to replace that arrow tomorrow (on the theory that the less time the new one has to deteriorate, the better).

(Marion) Thanks, I actually still have plenty of stickers, and (Dan) I don't think we saw the stickers you lost this morning, although by that point, Trung/Nathan/Chris/Paul were a fair bit ahead of Peter and me.  And, yes, Paul and San Bruno was one of the places where I do plan to add a couple stickers tomorrow.

From zooming in on this section in Google Maps, it's not immediately clear
that it is possible to turn left onto E 3rd at that point, unless I'm
missing something. But I'd try scouting it some morning.

About the stickered routes, Chris Ryan covered the route to Palo Alto via
the bike/ped bridge as well. The stickers at Marsh only point towards the
Sun sprint to avoid confusion, but if you ignore those and continue straight
on Bayfront Expressway, you'll see the arrows towards Palo Alto/Menlo Park.

And while I'm throwing unrelated comments in the same message, I don't know
if I'm in for tomorrow's sticker ride. I do I have some stickers left.

I only went as far as the turn TO the bike/ped bridge, though...ran out of stickers, and also figured anyone going to Menlo or PA would probably know where they were by then. I marked that turn, though, b/c the sign saying bike/ped bridge is sort of hidden by trees.

I also wrote "PA/Menlo" on that first blue sticker after the Marsh intersection, but Nathan and I agreed that it's impossible to see and kinda silly. Oh, well... if I had more stickers, I'd go back and write "PALO ALTO" entirely in stickers.

Street view definitely shows you can't as 3rd is divided at that point: http://goo.gl/maps/CRWeC

You'd need to get to the corner of S Norfolk and 3rd/J Hart Clinton which can be done a couple of different ways:

- Left on North Bayshore Blvd.
- Left on Cypress
- Right on S Norfolk
- Left on 3rd/J Hart Clinton

or

- Left on North Bayshore Blvd.
- Becomes 2nd
- Left on Lindbergh
- Soft right on 2nd
- Right on S Norfolk
- Left on 3rd/J Hart Clinton

J Hart Clinton has a lot of fast traffic on it and the surface of the shoulder isn't particularly nice, but YMMV.

On the topic of sticker wear/tear - the ones that look the most mangled are the ones getting run over by cars.  If possible, probably best to avoid sections of pavement that are in line with car tires.

David - tremendous job organizing.  The route is looking awesome.

getting onto third is a little hairy, but would be eased by turning from 2nd onto Terminal and over to Norfolk.

FWIW, taking Norfolk all the way through FC and onto the bike path at the southern end which would connect over to Oracle is not a bad option for a change of pace. Quite a few stop signs, but all in all the same time as the standard route. I take it on the way to a Yawyab meet up every now and then.

Thanks for coming out to help sticker!  We did end up laying down a decent number of stickers here and there where they had been eaten by cars and so on.  Thanks to Anton and Llew (and someone whose name I didn't get) from the 7am crew for joining us, as well!  I think it looks good for tomorrow ....

The route looked awesome when we rolled through even before you guys did the last sweep.  Kudos to all of you folks that did all the stickering work this week!
