So ... I'm looking for a cheap-ish penny farthing / high wheel. The office I work out has plenty of hoverboards, one-wheels, scooters, and bikes cruising around inside our cavernous facility, and I am thinking that it would be fun to mix it up with some old-fangled tech. I've ridden one before for five minutes and didn't crash so consider myself ready for ownership (this was over a decade ago... what could go wrong...)

I've been watching craigslist for ages but haven't seen any good options, so wondering if SF2G can keep their eyes peeled for me. I think the hipster-ironic-penny-farthing trend has faded, so hopefully there's one collecting dust somewhere out there and looking for a new home. Looking for 52-54" wheel size range. Not interested in a multi-thousand dollar historical piece or a brand new replica, as this will get ridden / crashed / left / eventually "disappeared" or destroyed at the office.

Should this come together, I commit to calling a Bayway NPFLB (no penny farthing left behind) so I can get this thing to Mountain View. Again, what could go wrong...

OT enough? ;)

Funny that this thread came up this week, I spotted a pennyfarthing going the other way today on BTWD (alas, no photos).

I spotted the same rider heading north. A few years ago he rode the Bayway south with the big SF2G group:

He’s my BTWD hero.
