It looks like the much awaited personal heatmaps feature is finally available in Strava for premium users as of last night. It's pretty cool as I was just able to generate my all time & it will now show up in your Strava profile:

http://app.strava.com/athlete/heatmaps

It is very similar to what Jonathan O'Keeffe had with his PHP tool to generate the cummulative all time:

I like the one that Strava has built as it is from the mothership & it looks really pretty with a good visualization. Kudos to anyone here who works for Strava & involved in building this feature. You now know where you have been in the Bay Area & the places you are yet to explore :)

Yeah, I got the same err for the first few generating attempts. Eventually after 10 minutes it was able to generate all the rides.

Wow, I've apparently never ridden in the Sunset EVER. Weird.

My heatmap sucks compared to 1T's.

The Bay Bridge trail extends into SF.  Barely.

Your heat map doesn't suck, it's just different.

fwiw, I still like Jonathan O'keeffe's better and now he has heatmap coloring (see attached)

also, you haven't ridden there because you haven't found the right reason to...Reason one: Cinnamon Toast @ Trouble Coffee

it looks like you have neglected Glen Canyon. Sure it may require a bit of hike-a-bike, but that's why you ride a CX rig!
