Yay, Murphy! Check out the women's empowerment option at Vallejo!

Yvonne, this opportunity comes too late for you, I'm afraid, but any other SF2G women who've been toying with the idea of racing 'cross, this Saturday's your chance to try it for free! (And if you're worried about doing your first race at night, don't be--the Women's Cs will be run in beginner-friendly daylight. Then you can hang around, drink beer, and heckle the rest of the racers...)

THE SUPERPRO BIG FAT CROSS UPDATE

We had to bring you a fresh newsletter because things are happening so fast now! Four points of rad for you here:

  • Vallejo Night Race
  • Women's Empowerment Mode: ENGAGE!
  • Oakland Recap
  • Foreshadowing
This Saturday night we’re bringing Folsom Rodeocross to Vallejo for a NIGHT-RACE with a fast, fun course and GHETO's Arty Yow is bringing the complete Heckle Hollow sound system/experience with him too! The lighting is plenty great for racing; please leave your bright lights at home! There is a bounce house for the kids and lots of OONTZ OONTZ to party with.
Valleo Night Race online reg still open until 5:00pm today! Onsite registration available too but save $5 and do it now!

WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT OPTION: Bring an awesome woman with you who has never raced cx before and their first race in Women C or Jr’s. is free. No cost, nothing, it’s on us. Have you been telling a lady that cx is super fun and they should give it a try? This is that chance! No charge and a supportive environment. We’ll even get them a quick tutorial so that they look like they know what they are doing. No pressure and no self-doubt- that’s the SuperPro way! Message us if you have a cross-curious prospect.
Oakland Hella Cross blew the doors off of this past weekend. A great turnout had 66 women and at 80 Cat C men.  Those are great fields! Way to represent O-Town! The City of Oakland was surprised by this event.

IMPORTANT NOTES: The racecourse for Oakland went through areas that are closed to bikes. STAY OUT of the picnic areas and the woodchip covered chute that went from the fast downhill pavement up to the other road. Whether or not we get a permit next year is dependent on if you stay out of areas that are not Bike-legal. Use this map to know for sure: LEGAL TRAIL MAP

We will be sending out a call for a trail workday with the BCTEB in JMP park in the coming weeks. This is also a great opportunity for you to show that you put back into the parks we are permitted in. Big numbers from us help ensure future permits.

Next Saturday, October 24th, is our Vallejo Day race with the merciless fun you’ve come to expect. Look for straightforward ‘cross layouts and great weather as usual.

Online registration is open for the Vallejo Day Race now:

...and what would a SuperPro newsletter be without our favorite literary device... foreshadowing?

Meh, that's what I get for having no shame about not knowing what I'm doing!
