Anyone else interested in taking the new ferry from Jack London to Oyster Point and then riding the Bayway route from there? http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2012/06/03/BAMG1ORM12.DTL
Post here if you are interested and we'll see if there might be enough people to do this in a more organized fashion (start times would be easy because there are only three ferry times). The ferry schedule is here: http://eastbayferry.com/ssf/

I'll be curious to see how the bike situation works out. Since the ferry picks up in Alameda first, we will join a partly full ferry at Jack London. That said, I'm hoping they will find room if there are more than 30 bikes.
I am in. Will be on the 6:40 ferry and riding to Palo Alto from there at around 16 mph. I will be in a yellow-green vest. I don't know the route but will either find someone or figure it out along the way.
Success! The ferry trip is quite pleasant and the 6:40 departure from Oakland arrives with plenty of time
to meet a typical 7am rollout (Hobe and company caught us
just past the airport). There's a neat view on the way out of
Oakland where you can see the Golden Gate Bridge behind the Bay Bridge
(barely visible in one photo below). I'm not sure all the boats are
configured the same way, but the Gemini has front and rear bike racks.
This morning they were only using the rear racks, which were about 3
bikes past capacity (see photo). Also, if you catch the
wrong BART, don't worry - the Lake Merritt station is just as
convenient as 12th St/City Center.
There's one reverse trip in the morning which would make for a neat way
to do the extended middle-east bayway if you can accept a late arrival
at work.
