This one is for everyone who thinks that if only we stopped at stop signs, then everything would be fine and dandy. I stopped at the stop sign, foot down, signalled, let two cars go before me, then entered the intersection to take a left and an oncoming car intentionally took a right turn right through my path. I caught the car downstream and the driver told me "I did it to pay you back for what you did to me in the crosswalk" (that might not be the exact quote, but it's close, I did a quick cut of the video while in a conference call and have not listened to it, but I don't recall anything I feel ashamed of).

Initially I followed the driver to try to get a plate and her face on video.
I'll bring this video to the City Council on May 6 unless someone has a good reason I should not, to build a case for the vulnerable users law. Note that the vulnerable users law would be a pplicable if the driver in this video was indeed cut off by a cyclist while she was in a crosswalk - the cyclist could theoretically be sued for doing that to a pedestrian. And it is the Sonoma County *cycling* organization which is pushing for the law, not the (non-existent) pedestrian org.

Ditto and props for catching up to her. With all her zigging and zagging, it seems like she was trying to evade you.
