ha, I see the prototype almost every day thru the glass at IDEO, in the alley.  so cool looking.  a real knockout.  can we try that one? :)

def. will contribute to the kickstarter campaign.

Hi SF2G'ers!  I've met a number of you on rides in the past, though it's been a while since I joined an SF2G ride.

My name's Adam and I'm a former engineer at IDEO - just this past week, I launched a new electric bicycle startup company called Faraday (www.faradaybikes.com).  We're selling our first production run of bikes on Kickstarter and are off to a smashing start:  http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/faradaybikes/faraday-porteur

Anyways, we're based in Palo Alto and I wondered if there would be interest in showing/test riding our bikes down at the Google campus this week or next?  Let me know, I'd be happy to make a lunchtime trip down!

cheers, Adam

That is beautiful bike. I just saw one on the street display outside of Palo Alto Bicycles, and the pictures don't do it justice. I honestly think e-bikes haven't gained much popularity because they all look monstrously ugly and unwieldy (http://www.stromer.ch/ holy shit look at that down tube). Best of luck! I really hope I start seeing these around town.

Hey Carlin, thanks a ton!  I totally agree...Faraday looks great on camera, but photos pale compared to the real thing.

It sounds like there's a lot of interest in doing some sort of daytime event at Google - is there someone I could connect with to help coordinate something, this week or next?  (You can reply to me directly to spare the list, if you like).

thanks!

Adam

I recommend bringing it to the First Friday Friendly Frolic on Aug 3. Either ride it down to Palo Alto yourself or let one of the SF2G’s ride it down and give a review. It would be great exposure to a large group of people. A lot of us are not at google, but the showing/testing there first is a good idea.
