The City of Belmont is doing a study to improve Ralston Ave.  There is concern that the study will focus on expediting traffic instead of increasing bike trips.

I have started a petition to the City Council (http://org.credoaction.com/p/saferalstonasking that bike and ped safety be a priority.  This includes a continuous bike lane on all of Ralston, linking up with Canada Road.  Currently, Ralston is a mess with bike lanes disappearing mid-route and being forced onto the sidewalk in other spots.  There have been several bike and ped deaths and serious accidents in recent years.

Please sign the petition (even if not a Belmont resident) and forward to anyone else that rides (or drives) in Belmont.

Thanks for your help,

Mike Swire
