I got pulled over on RT Jones (on the way to Bayview) this morning.  The Ames Police lady is ticketing for having a bike rack.  She was complaining that nobody ever listens to her about this, so sounds like she does it a lot.

I explained to her that her suggested license place placement was directly in contradiction with the California vehicle code, but she didn't care.  She let me go when I promised to never have a bike rack anywhere near her again.

It's only $25 or so, but she holds you there for like half an hour while running checks on your ID and such.  Sounded like she'd also try and ticket for stuff like having moved without updating the license.

This took me a while - you mean a bike rack on your car, not a rack on your bike? right?

Just to be clear, was her pretense that the rack blocks the license plate?
