OT: Livermore route recommendations

Based on current air quality numbers and predictions about wind direction this weekend I'm planning on riding somewhere out near Livermore on Sunday.

Anyone have any route recommendations in the 45 - 70 mile range? Thinking of riding out to Tracy via Patterson Pass Road and returning via Coral Hollow/Tesla Road.

I don't recommend Patterson Pass, I have really only driven it at rush hour, but it is narrow and winding and cars drive like 50 on it. If 580 has no traffic it might be OK. Corral Hollow and Tesla Road are more popular with cyclist. You might do Altamont Pass Rd then back on Tesla/Corral Hollow. Although it seems like a lot of people have routes over Patterson Pass. Also the air in general has been better out there in the afternoon, but I don't know if that will hold tomorrow.

I've ridden Patterson Pass on weekends a few times and it hasn't been that bad in terms of traffic. But if it's 'breezy' it can become..... less than pleasant.

Corral Hollow is a great road. I'd go out towards tracy that way and then back, maybe via Altamont.. The descent is great but be careful there is on very tight decreasing radius turn.

If you want a big ride you can always go out that way, down the valley, and back up Del Puerto Canyon. Del Puerto Canyon rocks.

So much for forecasts... today turned out to be the best day so far, by far.  I even did a little run without any adverse symptoms.
