SIF UK Specification released for public review

My only comment is that specifications should be short enough that they could
be at least read in a single programmers lifetime. Small companies will not
be able to afford to read the specification, let alone implement it!

The sheer size of the SIF spec is a bit misleading. The bulk of it is
a catalog of "data objects" from which a vendor chooses only those
that are relevant to his application. SIF isn't very hard to USE,
notwithstanding the lack of free libraries and tools. One could argue
that it is better to do as IMS did, and have a zillion little spec's,
but I'd say it is a matter of taste.

OTOH, it IS very hard to review and evaluate a spec of this size.
