Survey for Valencia 2026 SFTFC Team Hotel - Novotel Lavant Valencia

Hello SF Track Club Members and Friends,

In preparation for the 2026 Gay Games in Valencia, Spain (June 27-July 4 2026), we are securing team hotel accommodations at the Novotel Lavant Valencia, less than a block away from the track venue. (We believe the track is also the starting venue for all running events: track, 5k, 10k, half marathon, full marathon.)

To reserve a room with our group, please fill out the survey below. We have been quoted a daily rate of 155 Euros/day for a Superior Room (includes breakfast, taxes and fees; double occurpancy is +15 euro/day). This is a discounted group rate from what is available online.

Survey will close on Nov 10th, but we are reaching out to the hotel to increase our room block request imminently. So sooner is better than later.

See below for a special message from our member and now-Valcenia resident David Takacs:

Greetings from Valencia...For those who don't know me (and also for those who do), I was a sometimes SF Track and Field Runner. (Just ran a half marathon in Tarragona today, in fact.)  My husband Larry and I left SF and moved to Valencia in January.  If anyone needs any tourism/logistics/why am I doing this? advice, feel free to be in touch.

Two pieces of advice in advance: Get whatsapp on your phone (everyone here uses it) (I am +34 656 505 846).  And do all your spring training at midday in Sacramento, or Sonoma, or Stockton...The week of the Games this year had high temperatures from 93 to 99.

The high school in Walnut Creek is also good. The Wolves. I practiced there after work while working in Pleasanton. It gets in the 90’s.  It was in the 80’s in late afternoon when I got there.
