San Francisco Track and Field Club
Good Morning SFTFC family:
As the Track year starts to wind down including my time as President, I’m in that reflective mood.
We had a great year with many new club members, club members stepping up and doing a fantastic job coaching our teams across the board. Many went to different meets in the Bay Area to the Nationals in Sacramento winning their divisions and making SFTFC one of the top Track and Field teams to beat.
Our Pride Meet is one of those meets that the USATF officials and participants alike love to come to as Andrew and our Pride Meet Committee put on one of the best, well organized and FUN meets going. Of course, they are always looking for new members to the committee so please talk to Andrew.
For me personally, its been wonderful to be the President even thou the year had some highs but some major lows. I took on a house project late 2023 that has consumed my time this year but the end is near and moving will commence by Thanksgiving as I’m tired of working 12 hour days. Around the Pride Meet, I received life altering and devastating medical diagnosis that had me spinning for a while and now I am receiving treatment that will let me continue doing all the things I have wanted to do in retirement just a little earlier.
Im looking forward to coming to Sprinter practice next year and letting Zag and Sara whip me back into track shape.. ok, just the flexibility part as you all have seen my short NON Sprinter legs then on to Throwers practice as Valencia Gay Games is coming in June 2026 and I plan to be there and whoop some ass with the rest of our team. Start saving now so we can have a bigger contingent than Guadalajara as SFTFC dominated on the Track and Field alike.
Oct 13th is our last fundraiser of the year. I hope you will be coming to sell Jello shots and see friends. If you can’t make it, pls think to donate. This donation and your membership fees are tax write offs and keep the club operating . If you have any ideas to generate revenue for operating expenses for the club, please do not hesitate to talk to a Board member. Please get involved with the Board and a committee to steer the SFTFC direction to a greater future. We also have an end of year party coming in December and another email will advise of all the details.
